Privacy Policy
Knockline is a door-to-door canvassing tool operated by Opervo. This policy describes what the app stores, what it deliberately does not, and which other companies receive data in order for it to work.
What we store about you
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address and password | To create your account and sign you in. Passwords are stored only as a cryptographic hash and cannot be read by us. |
| Name, company and trade | Shown to your teammates and on your team's leaderboard. |
| Team name and join code | To group a crew and let a manager assign work. |
| Your canvassing records | Territories you draw, doors you knock, their status, your notes, appointments, and sale amounts. |
Location
Knockline asks for your location only while the app is open, and uses it for one thing: drawing your own position on the map so you can see where you are relative to the doors around you.
Locations that are stored are the ones you deliberately record: the coordinates of a door when you drop a pin on it, and the map position a territory opens at.
Information about the people you visit
Knockline lets a rep record an address, and optionally a name, phone number, email address, notes, an appointment and a sale amount, for a household they have visited. That is information about someone who is not a Knockline user and has not agreed to this policy.
The company that employs the rep decides what is collected and why, and is responsible for doing so lawfully, including telling those people about it where the law requires. Opervo stores that information on that company's behalf and does not use it for any purpose of its own.
Who else receives data
Knockline relies on these companies. Each one receives only what it needs to do its job.
| Service | What it receives |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Hosts the database and accounts. Holds everything listed above. |
| Vercel | Serves the app and this website. |
| Resend | Your email address, to send password resets and account email. |
| Google Maps Platform | Map imagery, address search and address lookup. Receives the part of the map you are looking at and any address you search for. |
| County GIS services and OpenStreetMap | The outline of the area you are downloading, to fetch public address, parcel and street data for it. These are public records requests and carry nothing about you. |
| FCC Area API | A single coordinate at the centre of a territory, to work out which county it is in. |
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data, or the data of the people you visit.
- We do not use it for advertising, or share it with advertisers.
- We do not run analytics or crash reporting inside the app.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not collect location in the background.
Data on your device
Knockline is built to work without a signal. It keeps a copy of your territories, your doors and the downloaded maps on your device, and uploads your work when a connection returns. Deleting the app removes that copy from the device.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: Settings > Delete account. It is immediate and cannot be undone.
Deleting your account removes your name, email, settings, custom statuses, training history and practice sessions, and any neighborhoods you created along with the doors inside them.
If you work for a company that uses Knockline, the doors you knocked in that company's neighborhoods stay with the company, as described in the Terms. They remain on the company's map and are no longer attributed to you.
If you cannot reach the app, email help@opervo.io from the address on the account and we will delete it for you.
Your choices
- You can decline the location permission. The map still works; it simply will not show where you are.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it, at help@opervo.io.
Children
Knockline is a tool for work and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell account holders by email.
